5. Who we share it with
We use service providers for website hosting, email, analytics, workflow automation and practice management. Some providers may store or process information outside New Zealand. Where a provider processes information only on OneLegal's behalf, OneLegal remains responsible for that information under the Privacy Act 2020. Where OneLegal discloses personal information to an overseas person or organisation for that recipient's own purposes, OneLegal will comply with information privacy principle 12. We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law or our professional obligations.
6. How long we keep it
OneLegal keeps personal information only for as long as it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, or to meet legal, professional, conflict-checking, risk-management or record-keeping obligations. If OneLegal does not accept an engagement, it may retain limited identifying information needed for future conflict checks while deleting other enquiry material when it is no longer required. Client information is retained in accordance with applicable legal and professional obligations. Analytics information is retained in accordance with the settings and retention periods configured for the relevant analytics service. Subscription details are retained until you unsubscribe or they are no longer required.
7. Cookies and analytics
We may use Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager to collect website usage, device and traffic-source information and to attribute enquiries to the source that led you here (for example a search engine or a referral). We may use first-party cookies or similar technologies to remember that source for a limited period. We do not send your name, email address or form content to analytics tools. You can block cookies in your browser; core website functions should remain available.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including access controls and encrypted connections. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. If a privacy breach occurs, OneLegal will assess and respond to it and will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner where notification is required by the Privacy Act 2020.
